Regular Decision is a non-binding admission procedure and the option used by most Boston College applicants. If you apply on Regular Decision, you will be aware of our decision before April 1st. You have until May 1st to make your decision and confirm your registration. The university says the new decision will benefit students and improve the quality of applicants. Under the new Early Decision programme, students can apply through the Early Decision I or Early Decision II programmes (both options are compulsory). Early Decision I has a deadline for applications on 1 November, with applicants being informed of admission decisions before 15 December. Early Decision II has a deadline of 1 January, with candidates being informed until 15 February. Another common concern of the students was financial support. “Early Decision allows colleges to shape incoming classes with much more clarity than Early Action, because we know the students we let enroll,” he said. “This should allow us to create an additional tool to expand the diversity of contexts and experiences in each in-depth classroom.” Early action programmes are not binding, which means that applicants who are accepted are not obliged to commit to this college.
